प्रतिभा रावलको जन्म कञ्चनपुरको भीमदत्त नगरपालिका–६ ऐठपुरमा भएको हो। ५ वर्षको उमेरमै बुबा गुमाएकी रावललाई उनकी आमा माया रावलले निकै संघर्ष गरेर हुर्काउनुभएको थियो। आमाले महेन्द्रनगरमा पसल चलाउँदै र पछि शिक्षण पेसा अंगालेर प्रतिभा र उनका दाइलाई शिक्षित बनाउनुभयो। प्रतिभाले महेन्द्रनगरबाटै एसएलसी उत्तीर्ण गरिन् र स्नातक तहको अध्ययनपछि भारतको चेन्नईबाट पोस्ट ग्राजुएट (स्नातकोत्तर) तहको शिक्षा हासिल गरिन्।
